|For former Oscar hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway,|
that might have been the start of a beautiful friendship.
Amid the storm of reboots, remakes, retreads and do-overs, there’s one movie that should absolutely never, ever be considered, and yet, the rumor is circulating that--sadly--Paramount has reportedly purchased the rights to Casablanca and plans to move forward with a full-on remake of this cinema classic.
In another reboot of sorts, the names circulating to fill the iconic roles of doomed lovers Rick and Ilsa is none other than the failed Oscar-hosting duo James Franco and Anne Hathaway.
Paramount executive Alan Smith says, “We think James and Anne can capture that on-screen spark that Bogie and Bergman had so many years ago. And, at this point, we are currently in discussion to produce two sequels that will follow Rick Blaine on his international adventures. There’s even a deal in the works for action figures and a first-person shooter for the Wii.”
And just in case you aren’t sick enough, HAPPY APRIL FOOL’S DAY!
