Trailer Watch: The Muppets, Tintin, and Conan O'Brien

This week in trailers we see the return of Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the rest of the gang in The Muppets. A popular French comic gets re-imagined by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson in The Adventures of Tintin. And, Conan O'Brien takes us behind the scenes of his successful tour in Conan O'Brien Can't Stop.

The Muppets
Cast: Emily Blunt, Amy Adams, Jason Segel
Director: James Bobin
Release Date: Nov. 23, 2011

It's been a while since we've had a good Muppet movie; and honestly, who doesn't love them? Excitement certainly was surging upon the announcement of this film, and with Jason Segel at the helm, there's good chance that this won't be an epic fail like 1999's Muppets from Space, but rather more like their classic films from the '80s. This whimsical teaser certainly whets the appetite. No, it's not a forthcoming cliche rom-com … it's the Muppets!

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn
Cast: Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig
Director: Steven Spielberg
Release Date: Dec. 23, 2011

The works of Hergé never looked more beautiful! The massively popular comic book series is finally getting it's theatrical due this Christmas, with the help of Steven Spielberg and producer Peter Jackson. The film--the first of a trilogy (the third being co-directed by Spielberg and Jackson)--combines the stories of "The Crab with the Golden Claws," "The Secret of the Unicorn," and "Red Rackham's Treasure," and features the voices of Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, King Kong) as Tintin, Andy Serkis, and Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. This will certainly be one to see, especially in 3D.

Conan O'Brien Can't Stop
Cast: Conan O'Brien, Andy Richter, Jimmy Vivino
Director: Rodman Flender

Speaking of a scrappy guy with weird red hair… Following in the wake of his departure from The Tonight Show, Conan O'Brien embarked on a national tour, doing what he does best. The tour was a massive success, and when it was all over, he found himself finally back on TV with his new gig on TBS. This doc, which premiered at this year's South by Southwest, follow's O'Brien on the road and behind-the-scenes as he comes to terms with his new life, channeling it all through his comedy.
