MRQE's 2011 Summer Movie Guide: Movies Annie is Anticipating

MRQE blogger, Annie Badavas discusses the three movies she's anticipating the most this summer.

Everyone loves summer movies! It is one of the best times to jump into a chilly theater and see a hot film. Ever since the 1970's when Steven Spielberg came out with Jaws, the idea of a summer blockbuster smash was established. Summer flicks are known, if successful, to make hundreds of millions of dollars in just weeks. Between Marvel movies and some great humor, the summer of 2011 is looking to really produce some fabulous films.

The Hangover Part II

The Hangover I was flat out legendary. This film was laugh-out-loud funny from beginning to end, and it seemed as if every scene was a true knee-slapper and belly rumbler. The second rendition of this film, coming in late May, is simply titled The Hangover Part II, and takes the naughty boys of Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis to Bangkok where they seem to get in about just as much trouble as before. This is a film I will surely see multiple times over the summer.

Captain America: The First Avenger

As a true WWII buff at heart, I can't wait for the release of Captain America. It is the latest action movie to come out of the Marvel series; and with an impressive computer generated body transformation for leading actor Chris Evans, we are sure this film will be extremely technology advanced, as well as, visually intriguing. The trailers alone are entertaining enough, so I can't wait to see what 90+ minutes of this superhero, action-packed film will be like!

Thor

Now, I'm a girl that is not big on sci-fi films or too much unrealistic action (reference the Transformers series), but Thor seems like a down right adventure. A story that will take the audience from beginning to end and when they step out of the theater they will say, "What just happened?" With a gorgeous leading man, Chris Hemsworth, and one of the most successful leading ladies in the industry today, Natalie Portman, this flick is going to be a massive blockbuster hit.
